He was among the protagonists of radical architectural movements such as Cavart, Alchimia and Memphis. He designed lamps and furniture for the most important Italian and European companies, he realized architectural projects in Italy and in the world, he exhibited in Europe, the United States and in Japan. He was awarded the Official of the Italian Republic for merits in the field of design and architecture and is Full Professor at the Faculty of Design at the Politecnico di Milano and Academic at the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Roma.
He recently developed numerous projects for the city of Milano, like the pavilions for Expo 2015 and the Unicredit Pavilion in Piazza Gae Aulenti.

Founded in 1921 as "Workshop for the processing of brass and nickel silver plate with foundry", Alessi has always been recognized for the high quality of its products. Since 1921, when the company was founded, the most significant part of the Alessi objects is made by cold working of metals and, even today, it is produced in Italy by skilled workers of the Crusinallo factory in Omegna. Even when it takes place outside the Crusinallo factory, the guidelines that Alessi has established guarantee the same quality standards as the original production of the company, in a continuous mediation between the technological complexity of the industry and the attention to details of craftsmanship.
